Black Widow A/V, LLC is pleased to introduce the availability of the FlexWAV series of plug and play transmitters, receivers, and cameras.  By leveraging off our experience with the popular BWAV200 Ready-to-Fly video system and Digilive camera downlink, we've been able to design a new line of equipment that will allow our clients to maximize the value of their wireless video equipment investment.  Designed around our reliable 2.4ghz 200mw transmitter, the FlexWAV promises an unparalled level of flexibility and ease of use.

ONE transmitter.  Multiple uses.
The FlexWAV transmitter is designed with maximum flexibility in mind.  Plug in one of our CCD video cameras for a Ready-to-fly video system, or attach our digital camera interface cable to allow you to transmit a live preview from your digital still camera.  ONE transmitter.  Multiple possibilities.

Multiple camera options.

Black Widow A/V offers a selection of cameras that are compatible with the FlexWAV transmitter. Simply pick the one that meets your performance and budget needs, and plug it into the FlexWAV...Our unique connector design will automatically provide power to the camera.

Video Overlay Capable
Many clients wish to add a video overlay to their system in order to display important information during the flight. The modular approach of our FlexWAV system makes it easy to insert a video overlay board "in-line" between the camera and transmitter.  We carry mating connectors that can be added to your overlay board to make it 'plug and play' with the FlexWAV system.

Wide input voltage
The FlexWAV transmitter has a very wide input voltage range to give you maximum flexibility in powering the system.  With the FlexWAV you can use ANY battery capable of providing 5v to 9.6v input.

Four channels
The FlexWAV can operate on any of 4 channels to allow you to select the clearest channel in your urban environment.

Built in audio
The FlexWAV has a built in microphone that features an incredibly wide dynamic range that adjusts automatically based on ambient noise.  This wide dynamic range allows the microphone to operate equally well on a quiet glider or a nitro powered aircraft, without distorting the sound.

Maximum flexibility in a transmitter antenna
The FlexWAV incorporates a highly reliable, lightweight and rigid transmitter antenna design that allows you to optimally install the antenna and have it stay there.  The antenna can be attached to the transmitter through a hole in the body of your aircraft, giving a clean, streamlined installation.  The antenna also offers two detent positions so that you can select the optimum antenna position for your installation.

Multiple Receiver options:

Basic Receiver

The FlexWAV basic receiver is the same reliable unit offered with the BWAV200 and Digilive.  It is extremely small, allowing you to develop a compact ground station setup that is easily transported to non-traditional take-off and landing sites, like the local park or school yard. Lightweight and sturdily designed,  it can be powered from the included wall transformer, or by any 9v to 12v DC power source.

Diversity receiver

Black Widow A/V, LLC will be offering the ultimate receiver technology to our more demanding customers.  Diversity receivers offers the best possible chance of capturing perfect video.  Here's how it works: The signal transmitted from the aircraft is analyzed hundreds of times a second by a pair of sensitive receivers, and the one with the best signal is routed to the output of the diversity switch.  The user is presented with the best possible signal at all times, virtually assuring a drop-out free video.  Furthermore, the switching between receivers is only performed between video frames to eliminate any switching noise from being seen on screen.  The result?  Virtually perfect video even when the unit is switching between receivers.

High-gain receiver antenna
The FlexWAV uses the same 8 dbi high gain circular polarized patch antenna that helped defined the success of our BWAV200 and Digilive .  When properly deployed, this antenna will help you achieve the best possible results in many challenging urban setting.
